Human Resources Management (HRM) revolves around the whole life cycle of employment that begins with recruiting and ends with the separation or exit of employees. HRM is also known as human resource management or just HR. The objective of HRM is to ensure that the objectives of the organization are met through the utilization of human capital. An HR manager performs several key functions and is in charge of recruiting, planning, promoting, training and motivating individuals. An effective HR manager intends the work environment to be certain productivity is at its peak and manages payrolls to make certain that everyone has enough work to do each day.

 

The success of any company depends upon how well its employees and departments perform. Human Resources Management seeks to promote a work environment that is organized, functional and competitive by ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and are satisfied with their position and with the overall management system. Human Resources management system not only concentrates on the activities and responsibilities of individual departments but also has a direct effect on organizational culture.

 

Labor management is a branch of human resource management which looks into issues such as recruitment, orientation, induction, training and other procedures that could affect employees in the workplace. A labour manager is responsible for the recruiting, promotion and training of employees. The objectives of labour management include the reduction of workplace conflicts and ensuring that employees are properly paid and that conditions of employment are maintained. Moreover, a labor manager manages compliance with the employment laws, ensuring that the company adheres to legal requirements.

Recruitment and orientation are another important aspect of HRM.

When a company wants to hire a new worker, it does so by conducting an employee selection process which involves assessing the potential of that person based on their resume along with other aspects. Human resources management ensures that the proper people are selected for the ideal job in the right place. When you hire the wrong people or when you do not choose the right people for the right jobs, there can be negative impacts from the workplace such as low employee morale and strained worker relationships.

HRM strategic planning

In addition to recruitment, orientation and training, human resources management also involves strategic planning. Human capital planning is implemented so that human capital is allocated in the best and most efficient way. There are two main approaches to strategic planning; one is the technology strategy where human capital is planned to use technological innovations such as using computers and the Internet to find talent, figure out the ideal people and promote them in the company and another is your ability strategy, wherein the best employees are chosen for specific positions through intensive recruitment, training and evaluation processes and then promoted in the business.

Strategic planning is usually integrated with the evaluation and management of performance. If the individual resource managers don’t perform in their jobs efficiently, then the strategy will fail. Successful performance management ensures that the company can achieve its objectives and improve the quality of the workplace.
